A great opportunity has arisen for a proactive, highly organised, detail-driven and methodical Finance Assistant to join our small finance team at the Campden Charities, the well-established charity based in West London near Notting Hill Gate tube station. We are seeking to recruit someone on a full-time, permanent basis. This is an office-based role in assisting the Finance Director with daily tasks and year-end preparations. The successful candidate will work closely with internal teams and external stakeholders, supporting a broad range of financial processes including invoice management, reconciliations and general administration.

Main Duties include:

  • Assisting with essential finance activities
  • Various data entry into Sage 50, including nominal journals, purchase and sales invoices
  • Assisting with processing grants
  • Maintain purchase and sales ledgers
  • Prepare supplier payment runs
  • Maintain spreadsheets outside Sage
  • Assisting with payments
  • Assisting with year-end and audit preparations
  • Ad hoc reporting

Key requisites for candidates:

  • At least one year of previous work experience within an accounting department
  • Competent use of MS Office with strong Excel skills, able to create a complex spreadsheet
  • Working knowledge of Sage 50 or similar accounting software
  • Excellent attention to detail and high level of accuracy
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and finance processes
  • Professional, with a strong ethical and collaborative approach to business relationships
  • Self-motivated individual with strong organisational skills and can-do attitude
  • Strong analytical and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines
  • Strong team player, accountable for own input
  • Actively studying towards the ACCA qualification
