A great opportunity has arisen for a proactive, highly organised, detail-driven and methodical Finance Assistant to join our small finance team at the Campden Charities, the well-established charity based in West London near Notting Hill Gate tube station. We are seeking to recruit someone on a full-time, permanent basis. This is an office-based role in assisting the Finance Director with daily tasks and year-end preparations. The successful candidate will work closely with internal teams and external stakeholders, supporting a broad range of financial processes including invoice management, reconciliations and general administration.
Responsibilities
- Assisting with essential finance activities
- Various data entry into Sage 50, including nominal journals, purchase and sales invoices
- Assisting with processing grants
- Maintain purchase and sales ledgers
- Prepare supplier payment runs
- Maintain spreadsheets outside Sage
- Assisting with payments
- Assisting with year-end and audit preparations
- Ad hoc reporting
Qualifications and requirements
- At least one year of previous work experience within an accounting department
- Competent use of MS Office with strong Excel skills, able to create a complex spreadsheet
- Working knowledge of Sage 50 or similar accounting software
- Excellent attention to detail and high level of accuracy
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and finance processes
- Professional, with a strong ethical and collaborative approach to business relationships
- Self-motivated individual with strong organisational skills and can-do attitude
- Strong analytical and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines
- Strong team player, accountable for own input
- Actively studying towards the ACCA qualification
