Overview
Creative Therapist at Spring Hill School, Ripon, North Yorkshire – part‑time 3 days per week (24 hours). Salary/Benefits: pro‑rata £42,170 per annum depending on experience.
Main duties of the job
- Deliver therapeutic interventions to children and young people aged 8‑19 with Autism Spectrum Disorder, challenging behaviours, social communication difficulties and complex needs.
- Support the emotional wellbeing, mental health and placement stability of looked‑after young people who have experienced significant adverse childhood experiences.
- Provide a combined clinical consultative and direct therapeutic service within an existing multidisciplinary team, including OTs and SaLTs.
- Collaborate with the admissions, safeguarding and placement teams to support agreed placement objectives, care planning and progression.
- Maintain accurate clinical records, conduct routine outcome measures and produce regular clinical reports.
Qualifications, Experience and Skills
- Registered with the relevant professional body (HCPC).
- Background in Mental Health and/or CAMHS experience.
- Relevant qualifications enabling provision of children’s therapy.
- Strong team player with excellent communication, organisational and time‑management skills.
- Experience in trauma‑informed therapeutic interventions for children and young people.
- Knowledge of assessment, intervention and management of a range of mental health needs, including trauma.
- Experience in partnership working, supporting placement objectives, care planning and routine outcome measures.
