Extraordinary Days Every Day
At Cambian, you’re not just working - you’re shaping futures. As a Residential Team Leader, based within the Manchester region, every moment you spend with our young people (ages 8–18) helps them feel safe, valued and supported. A simple "How was your day?", a shared laugh over a board game or encouragement during a tough moment - these small interactions build trust and shape lives. Some days will be challenging but every breakthrough, every smile and every step forward will remind you why this work truly matters.
What You’ll Do:
- Support young people with their daily routines; getting them ready for school, prepping for meal times and planning activities.
- Create a warm, homely environment by helping with light housekeeping.
- Build strong, meaningful relationships and provide emotional support.
- Plan and join fun activities like trips to the park, popcorn & movie nights or creative projects.
- Keep essential records to ensure the best possible care.
Where You’ll Do It:
We are a solo home based in the Rochdale area, close to the town centre with plenty of parks and nature walks for fresh air throughout the day. The home comprises a living room, dining room, kitchen and downstairs toilet/shower room on the ground floor. There are three bedrooms upstairs, one being an office/staff sleep room, one separate staff sleep room and the young person's bedroom, along with a large bathroom primarily used by the young person. We have a large back garden with a raised concrete patio area for eating out in the summer. Opposite the home is a large field widely used by local children to play sports, providing the young person the opportunity to play out and integrate with neighbouring children. The team works predominantly on a 2:1 basis and uses the PACE model as well as therapeutic parenting, with training provided to support the young person. Outings are the main focus of the home, with staff and young people spending a lot of time on activities.
Who You Are:
Warm, patient, a great listener and encourager - focused on achieving outcomes for others. Experience/qualification in residential childcare.
