The Recovery Nurse role offers clinical skills and knowledge to support clients through their recovery journey, both clinically and holistically. The purpose is to offer high standards of care for our clients while contributing to service development and innovation to continually improve the service offer.

Responsibilities:

  • Dispense controlled and non‑controlled drugs to meet clients’ physical support needs.
  • Conduct clinical and psychosocial assessments to create person‑centered integrated care plans.
  • Deliver health promotion activities including sleep management, BBV, wellbeing, detox promotion and monthly topic initiatives.
  • Achieve delivery of KPIs in line with contract agreements to evidence service delivery outcomes.
  • Deliver awareness sessions linked to substance misuse.
  • Collaborate multidisciplinary with stakeholders such as healthcare, offender management, safer custody, community CDTs and CPNs.
  • Manage caseload of complex and non‑complex clients.
  • Support colleagues and managers with new initiatives and service offerings, and any reasonable requested activities.
  • Plan and coordinate clients’ recovery journeys, keeping the client at the centre of all decision‑making.
  • Supervise support workers.

Person Specification:

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Registered nurse meeting NMC Code of Conduct.
  • Resilience and adaptability in a demanding, changeable environment.
  • Effective written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Good situational judgement.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Evidence of updating practice and continued professional development.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of principles of clinical governance.

Qualifications:

  • Registered Nurse on the NMC.

Experience:

  • Experience working within a multidisciplinary, supervised service team.
