Calico Homes invites you to submit a quote for the provision of consultancy services as Chair of the Customer Committee. This role is pivotal in strengthening customer voice at the heart of our governance and ensuring that customer insight drives accountability, service improvement, and regulatory compliance.

You are requested to provide a submission via the Calico eāTendering Portal providing the below information:
Project Plan: Including timescales, milestones and time commitments).
Detailed proposal: This should include how you will go about being successful in the delivery of the position.
Pricing Document: This should include a breakdown of all costs in full required to deliver the requirement.
References: 2 references.

Section 2 ā Specification: Chair of the Customer CommitteeContract Overview
Location: Burnley ā in person
Contract Type: FixedāTerm (Partātime, approx. 2 days/month)
Tenure: 18 months (January 2026 ā June 2027), with potential for extension.
The Value of This Role
The Chair will play a pivotal role in shaping and embedding Calico Homesā new Customer Committeeāensuring customer voice is central to governance, decisionāmaking, and service improvement. This role will create the foundations for longāterm success, establish governance in line with the Regulator of Social Housingās consumer standards, lead recruitment of diverse members, and build their capability and confidence ensuring we have succession planning in place for Board and the Committee.
Expectations of the Role
Commit a minimum of two days per month, delivered flexibly, to act as Chair. To lead the Committeeās development from inception, embed it within governance, oversee recruitment of customer and Board members, and mentor members to build confidence and skills for effective governance and delivery of agreed outcomes.
Activities Involved
Design and embed governance arrangements for the Customer Committee.
Oversee recruitment and onboarding of customer and Board members.
Lead the Committee with authority and independence, creating a constructive environment for debate and alignment.
Act as mentor and coach to build capability and confidence of members.
Develop a clear transition and succession plan for sustainability.
Person Specification
Essential:
- Proven leadership and governance experience.
- Strong understanding of customer voice in social housing.
- Ability to coach and develop committee members.
- Strategic thinking and collaborative working style.
Desirable:
- Experience chairing committees or boards.
- Familiarity with housing regulatory frameworks.
- Lived experience or deep insight into customer perspectives.

Section 3 ā Declaration
I/We, having read and understood the Invitation to Quote, hereby offer to provide consultancy services as Chair of the Customer Committee in accordance with the specification and at the stated price. This offer remains valid for ninety (90) days.
