We are seeking an exceptional Food and Beverage Director to join our Senior Leadership Team. This is a pivotal executive role for a visionary leader who understands that world class dining experiences are created by empowering teams, refined standards and a culture of excellence.
The Hotel: The Caledonian Edinburgh has embodied the best in Scottish hospitality for over a hundred years. The Person: The Food & Beverage Director holds overall responsibility for shaping and leading the hotel's food and beverage experience, ensuring every restaurant, bar, in-room dining offering, and event reflects our luxury brand standards and commitment to excellence. This role is instrumental in curating exceptional guest journeys across all touchpoints; delivering refined service, culinary distinction, and memorable moments that embody warm Scottish hospitality and impeccable attention to detail. As an integral part of the Senior Leadership Team, the Director will inspire, develop, and empower a high-performing food and beverage team, fostering a culture of pride, professionalism, and accountability. With a strategic and commercially astute approach, they will drive operational excellence, sustainable profitability, and cost efficiency while never compromising the guest experience. Balancing people leadership with performance delivery, the Director will champion team member engagement, talent development, and succession planning recognising that extraordinary guest experiences begin with exceptional teams.
The Role:
- Significant senior leadership experience within luxury food and beverage operations.
- Proven success managing complex, multi-outlet environments including restaurants, bars, in-room dining, banqueting, and large-scale events.
- Demonstrated ability to drive revenue growth while elevating guest satisfaction and protecting brand standards.
- Strong commercial acumen with expertise in budgeting, forecasting, and cost control.
- Deep understanding of luxury hospitality trends, guest expectations, and industry best practice.
- Inspirational leadership style with a track record of developing high-performing, engaged teams.
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Highly organised, detail-oriented, and solutions-focused in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient in property management systems, inventory platforms, and Microsoft Office.
- Degree or diploma in Hospitality Management or related field preferred.
- Food Safety and Health & Safety certification required; additional leadership or financial qualifications advantageous.
