We are delighted to be recruiting for a skilled Events Executive within the Group Sales and Meetings & Events team, to event manage and deliver an unrivalled event experience for our guests and within our reimagined dining experiences, event spaces and newly refurbished 235 guestrooms and suites.

The Role:

As an Events Executive for The Caledonian Edinburgh, you will manage and plan successful programs for our clients and guests with meetings, incentives and social events, through smooth planning experience, overall client satisfaction and excellent communication across all departments within the hotel.

What a typical working week will look like:

  • Receive file handovers from the Sales team for contracted events to then communicate and lead the client through an effective event management journey.
  • Communicate clients' needs, event schedules, menu choices, event inclusions across all departments within the hotel.
  • Take enquiries for small meetings and social events, weddings, dinner and convert these customer enquiries to then deliver to event execution.
  • Seek opportunities to increase sales, upsell and guest satisfaction.
  • Ensure effective planning and billing procedures leading to high guest satisfaction.
  • Event Manage key accounts, events and annual events.
  • Build strong relationships with key customers, both new and repeat events.
  • Participate in hotel promotional activities.
  • Work effectively with the other commercial and operational departments.
  • Produce Banqueting Events Orders with full event details for all departments.
  • Attend Commercial and Operational meetings to discuss each event in detail.

An Events Executive is working on behalf of our Guests and working with other Team Members and Departments. To successfully fill this role, you should maintain the attitude, behaviours, skills, and values that follow:

  • Demonstrated previous experience in an Events role.
  • Excellent organisational and administration skills.
  • Positive attitude and strong communication skills.
  • Confident in numerical skills, reporting and data.
  • Knowledge of hotel systems, with OnQ and Delphi platform knowledge preferred.
  • Creative approach to event program ideas.
  • Excellent grooming standards.
  • Demonstrated previous experience working in an Events environment.
  • Detail focus.
  • Resilience and ability to thrive even in high pressure situations.

It would be advantageous in this position for you to demonstrate the following capabilities and distinctions:

  • Knowledge of the hotel property management systems.
  • Qualification, degree, or certification in a relevant field.
