We are seeking a Junior Sous Chef to help lead our kitchen brigade, delivering exceptional dishes crafted with skill, creativity and a passion for Scottish produce.
The Person:
- An experienced chef with strong leadership qualities and high culinary standards.
- Calm, organised and confident when leading a kitchen section or full service.
- A collaborative team player with excellent communication skills.
- Passionate about training and developing junior chefs.
- Strong understanding of food safety, HACCP and kitchen operations.
The Role:
- Support the Head Chef in leading, managing and motivating the kitchen team.
- Oversee daily food preparation, cooking and presentation to brand standards.
- Maintain smooth kitchen operations, stepping up in the Head Chef's absence.
- Ensure food quality, consistency, cost control and minimal waste.
- Champion health & safety, hygiene and compliance across the kitchen.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and support chefs during service, ensuring dishes meet specification.
- Maintain kitchen organisation, cleanliness and stock control.
- Assist with scheduling, staffing decisions and performance reviews.
- Collaborate with front-of-house to deliver seamless guest experiences.
- Provide on-the-job coaching and help develop training programmes for junior chefs.
