Join Our Innovation Team
We’re looking for a proactive and detail-oriented NPD Packaging Technologist to join our dynamic New Product Development team.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a passion for food manufacturing and packaging innovation to play a key role in bringing new products from concept through to launch.
Working closely with NPD, Technical, Operations and Production teams, you’ll help ensure our packaging is fit for purpose, compliant, commercially viable and delivered to the highest quality standards.

- What You’ll Be Doing
- Managing packaging requirements throughout the NPD process.
- Creating and maintaining packaging specifications, quality assessment documents and line standards.
- Producing accurate theoretical nutritional information and supporting product documentation.
- Supporting factory trials, collecting trial data and ensuring packaging performs effectively during production.
- Working collaboratively with Process Technologists, Technical, Production and Commercial teams to deliver successful product launches.
- Preparing retailer submission documentation and ensuring it is completed accurately and on time.
- Managing packaging samples and coordinating courier shipments where required.
- Maintaining packaging databases and documentation to ensure compliance and version control.
- Supporting continuous improvement initiatives within the NPD function.
- Assisting with project administration, budget tracking and general team support as required.
- Contributing to internal audits and ensuring all documentation meets customer and company standards.
About You
- Experience within an NPD, Packaging or Technical role in the food manufacturing or FMCG sector.
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to produce accurate technical documentation.
- Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Experience working with retailer specifications and customer codes of practice would be advantageous.
- Good understanding of food manufacturing processes and packaging requirements.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills and confidence working with technical databases.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build relationships across multiple departments.
- A proactive approach with the ability to work independently while supporting a collaborative team.
Desirable Qualifications & Experience
- Degree in Food Science, Packaging Technology, Food Technology or a related discipline or equivalent experience.
- Food Hygiene and HACCP qualifications.
- Experience working with UK retailers such as Tesco, Sainsbury’s, Aldi, Lidl, Morrisons, Asda, Co-op, Iceland.
- Experience supporting factory trials and product launches.
