Total Politics Group provides customers, partners and the public with the skills, intelligence and platforms needed to engage effectively across the spheres of politics, public sector administration and public affairs throughout the United Kingdom and European Union. Holyrood Communications is the Scottish division of Total Politics; since 1999, Holyrood Communications has been helping create honest, open and apolitical analysis of public policy here in Scotland through both our events and editorial output.

Holyrood Events is looking for a motivated team player with an interest in policy and politics, and who has an excellent attention to detail to join our team of Event Producers. The Producer will lead on researching, curating, and delivering a portfolio of events in a variety of formats, such as conferences, round tables, breakfast briefings and party conference fringe events. Holyrood’s events are largely in-person, but occasionally hybrid or virtual.

This is a multifaceted role within the events team, majoring on research, stakeholder, and project management. Holyrood’s events tackle topical issues around Scottish public policy and are typically aimed at a political or public and third sector audience. The Producer will build on the success of annual events, and also research and create new event programmes.

The Event Producer has oversight of each event from pre-event research and feasibility analysis, through kick off, to post event evaluation; and is responsible for writing innovative, engaging, and articulate copy to describe and promote events and their content. The Event Producers will work to secure industry leading speakers, then brief and manage speakers and other partners in the run up to and on the event day and post event.

The Event Producer will work in partnership with the Marketing, Events Operations and Sales teams to ensure that the events within the portfolio run smoothly to project timelines and generate revenue to meet predefined budgets. The event producer is responsible for working with clients to ensure their contribution is of the highest quality. The post holder will be responsible for managing and maximising engagement with specialist expert steering groups for one or more topics.

Using the relationships built with event partners and high-profile speakers, the Event Producer will work to enrich event content-led marketing by linking relevant policy announcements, thought leadership commentary and research, to help attract delegates and sponsors to our events.

This role is based in Edinburgh with hybrid working options. The salary is up to £27,000, depending on experience.
