We are currently recruiting General Operatives to join a meat manufacturing business operating within a multi-species production environment. This is a fantastic opportunity for reliable and flexible candidates looking to secure ongoing work, receive full training, and develop their careers within food manufacturing.
Pay & Benefits
- £12.21, minimum wage
- Skill-based pay uplifts available and assessed individually for: Knife handling skills, Supervisory experience, Relevant food manufacturing experience
- Temp to Perm position (26 weeks)
- Free on-site parking
- Site accessible by public transport
- Full training provided
- Opportunity to learn new skills and upskill within the business
Working Hours
- Minimum 40 hours per week
- 5 consecutive working days
- Weekend working required (Saturday & Sunday)
- No night shifts
- Shift lengths may vary depending on production requirements: Some shifts around 6 hours & some shifts up to 10 hours
- Example shift pattern: Sunday - Thursday
- Candidates must be flexible
Responsibilities
- Carrying out general production duties within a food manufacturing environment
- Working across multiple departments as required
- Supporting production flow and meeting daily output targets
- Operating food manufacturing equipment such as Grinders, Mixers & Blenders (full training provided)
- Following all food safety, hygiene, and health & safety procedures
- Maintaining a clean and organised work area
Requirements
- A reliable and flexible approach to work
- The ability to follow instructions and site procedures
- A strong awareness of health, safety, and hygiene standards
- Willingness to learn and gain new skills
- The ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Comfort working with raw meat
Skilled butchers or operatives with supervisory experience will be assessed individually and may be offered a slightly higher rate.
