Keeping production moving means solving problems quickly, preventing the next breakdown and finding smarter ways to improve performance. As a Mechanical Engineer, you'll have the opportunity to make that impact across a busy food manufacturing environment, taking ownership of maintenance, fault finding and equipment improvements.

You'll work across production and process equipment, combining hands-on maintenance with continuous improvement while helping minimise downtime and maintain high standards across the site.

Your responsibilities as Mechanical Engineer:

  • Complete planned preventative and reactive maintenance across production equipment
  • Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults, responding quickly to breakdowns to minimise downtime
  • Repair, maintain and improve production machinery to support reliable site performance
  • Deliver equipment installations, modifications and continuous improvement projects
  • Maintain Health & Safety, Food Safety and GMP standards while completing accurate maintenance documentation
  • Work closely with Production and Technical teams to resolve equipment issues and improve performance

What we’re looking for in a Mechanical Engineer:

  • Time-served Multi-Skilled Engineer with food manufacturing or FMCG experience
  • HNC or equivalent electrical qualification, with strong fault-finding skills and the ability to read electrical drawings
  • Practical experience with welding, fabrication and pneumatic systems
  • PLC fault finding and inverter experience
  • Experience within meat or food processing, supervisory exposure or a Health & Safety qualification would be advantageous

Working hours: 2:00pm–10:00pm
