Your responsibilities as Hygiene Manager:
- Lead the site’s hygiene operation, ensuring cleaning activities consistently meet business and customer standards.
- Manage hygiene schedules, deep cleans, equipment strip-downs and reassembly to maintain full operational readiness.
- Drive compliance with HACCP, COSHH, BRC Standards, food safety and health & safety requirements while maintaining accurate audit documentation.
- Lead investigations into hygiene non-conformances, implementing corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Manage labour, chemical, water and consumable costs while monitoring key operational performance measures.
- Coach, develop and manage the hygiene team, overseeing training, appraisals, staffing levels and employee relations processes.
What we’re looking for in a Hygiene Manager:
- Must have previous Hygiene Management experience within a meat manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of food safety systems, HACCP, COSHH and audit compliance requirements.
- Experience managing hygiene schedules, deep cleaning programmes and production equipment sanitation.
- Knowledge of BRC Standards, internal auditing, root cause analysis or continuous improvement methodologies.
- Relevant qualifications such as HACCP, IOSH or equivalent, along with experience within poultry, meat or retail food manufacturing, would be advantageous.
Working hours:
- Monday to Friday: 8:30pm – 5:00am
- 5 hours per week
- 30-minute unpaid break
- 1 in every 3 Sundays required
- Day in lieu provided for Sunday working
- No on-call responsibilities
