About the business unit
The Energy unit delivers services to clients globally across several sectors including hydropower, nuclear, waste, renewable generation and transmission & distribution networks. Together we provide integrated engineering and project management services across the project lifecycle – from concept and design to construction and operations, to decommissioning or repowering and life extension. Together with our clients, we’re helping to deliver the energy transition globally.
Overview of the role
Due to continued growth, our Nuclear, Defence and Civil division is recruiting a Senior Document Controller to support our technical delivery teams across a diverse portfolio of projects within the Energy sector, varying in scale and complexity. We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Document Controller with a willingness to develop across all aspects of document management, while also supporting broader project administration activities and potentially managing a small team. In this role, you will work independently using web-based document management platforms, maintaining accurate records and applying template-driven document control processes on large-scale projects. As a Senior Document Controller, you will be responsible for managing and controlling all project documentation from internal teams and external partners. This is a key role in ensuring that teams consistently use the latest document versions, enabling accurate, efficient, and timely project delivery to our clients.
Key responsibilities and duties include:
- Administer the project Common Data Environment (CDE)
- Provide training to project teams on the use of the CDE
- Develop and maintain training materials for end users
- Deliver system support to project stakeholders
- Produce reports on user accounts and system usage
- Support the Information Management Lead in testing systems for project production environments
- Assist with data and document migration activities
- Ensure a 24-hour turnaround for access requests is achieved and maintained
Candidate specification
Essential:
- Experience delivering projects in line with ISO 19650 processes
- Knowledge of AEC content management systems such as SharePoint, Business Collaborator, or ProjectWise
- Familiarity with BIM toolsets from key vendors (e.g. Autodesk, Bentley, Aveva)
- Experience working on large and complex projects
- Demonstrable professional experience in a similar role
- Strong IT literacy, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and PDF documentation, along with good keyboard skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Confidence engaging with and presenting to stakeholders
- A commitment to continuous professional development
