Working for this established, progressive and growing organisation, the Senior Account Director will have responsibility for a team who are developing, leading and delivering strategic account plans that drive revenue growth, customer satisfaction and long-term partnership value. Looking at innovation, profitability and wider opportunities, the Senior Account Director will build and maintain strong relationships with senior management within clients.
The Senior Account Director will be rewarded with 23 days’ holiday plus bank Holidays, increasing with service to 30 days; quarterly staff awards and long service rewards; company events; a healthcare cashback scheme and subsidised gym membership; life assurance; workplace pension. The Senior Account Director will work on a hybrid basis, with a minimum of 1 day a week in the office.
Responsibilities and Tasks- Lead a team of Account Directors, providing coaching, development and performance management to ensure objectives are met
- Build and maintain strategic relationships with corporate clients, including running high-quality review meetings and planning sessions
- Develop and deliver account strategies and business plans, aligned with client objectives and growth targets
- Lead the implementation of new services and products within accounts, managing internal teams and timelines
- Present to external stakeholders, delivering clear updates, insights, and recommendations based on account performance and potential
- Prepare, deliver and negotiate proposals and tender responses, ensuring alignment to client and commercial needs
- Influence internal stakeholders and secure cross-functional support to enhance service quality and delivery
- Responsibility for researching and developing new types and streams of business within each account
- Develop and own the Account Plan
- Support the compilation of proposals/tender responses for any new products or contract renewals.
- Minimum of five years B2B Account Management experience, gained in the financial services sector
- People management skills, with the proven ability to influence change and empower team members; support team morale, particularly through periods of change or high demand; address underperformance constructively and champion professional growth
- Know how to develop, lead and deliver strategic account plans that drive revenue growth, customer satisfaction and long-term partnership value
- Have knowledge of key performance metrics and how to establish and track them in relation to account health and profitability
- Know how to manage corporate client relationships at senior levels, including board-level engagement
- Understand the wider industry context, including competitor activity, market trends, and how these influence client needs and business direction
- Have knowledge of product implementation, change communication, and supporting
- Understand governance, contract renewal processes, tender submissions and service level agreements
- Know how to integrate new accounts into existing operations, working cross-functionally with Marketing, Operations, Customer Service and Compliance
- Conduct competitor and client analysis to support proactive service development and income stream expansion
