Quality Engineer To ensure that procured and manufactured goods fully meet the required specifications, promoting high standards of quality that drive productivity and reinforce the company’s reputation for supplying precision-manufactured components. To actively support the company’s Nuclear Culture, assist manufacturing operations, and ensure that quality systems across the organisation are robust, effective, and aligned with the delivery of quality goods and services. Quality Engineer\’s Key Responsibilities * Inspection of incoming goods, Machine shop inspection, Fabrication inspection, Welding inspection and Assembly inspection * Production of full dimensional reports * Raising and resolving NCRs, concession requests, and production permits * Management of calibration systems and equipment * Conducting factory acceptance tests * Metrology activities * Performing internal quality audits * Completing customer pre-qualification documents Quality Engineer\’s Health and Safety * Daily shop floor safety inspections * Maintenance of COSHH records and maintenance of risk assessments * Preparation of production permits and RAMS * Control and allocation of PPE * Acting as a trained first aider Quality Engineer\’s Skills & Experience * Minimum of three years’ experience in a similar role and environment * Sound knowledge of BS 8888:2020 Technical Product Specification (all sections preferred), including the ability to read technical drawings and interpret welding symbols * Practical experience with relevant inspection equipment, such as: * Surface roughness tester * CNC CMM, Faro Arm, Faro Laser or equivalent * Qualified BS EN ISO 9001:2015 Internal Auditor; Lead Auditor qualification preferred Quality Engineer\’s Educational Qualifications * Minimum: NVQ/SVQ Level 3 or ONC/OND in Mechanical or Production Engineering * Preferred: NVQ/SVQ Level 4 or HNC/HND in Mechanical or Production Engineering * Qualification in dimensional metrology * NEBOSH General Certificate * TechIOSH status * CQI Practitioner or CQI Member Quality Engineer\’s Benefits and Hours of Work * Monday to Fri: Days Only, Salary: up to £40k DOE, Pension, Holidays, Training & Development & Company Events PLEASE NOTE THIS POSITION DOES NOT PROVIDE SPONSORSHIP AT ANY POINT – CANDIDATES ON PSW VISA OR REQUIRING SPONSOESHIP WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED Unfortunately, due to time restrictions we cannot respond to every applicant, in the event that we haven’t contacted you within 48 hours please take it you have not been successful for this particular role, but your details will be kept on file and considered for all future vacancies.
