This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Project Engineer to play a key role in shaping the future of our operations.

You will lead and deliver capital investment projects across the site, working hands-on from concept through to completion. With the autonomy to manage your own projects, you’ll see the direct impact of your work on efficiency, innovation and continuous improvement across the business.

Project Engineer Role & Responsibilities

  • Leading and overseeing CAPEX projects from concept through to completion
  • Independently managing small to medium-sized projects, ensuring compliance with safety, quality and operational requirements
  • Acting as a representative of the business at internal and external meetings
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date project documentation
  • Managing project budgets and controlling expenditure
  • Supervising contractors, ensuring safe working practices, inductions and compliance with site procedures
  • Working closely with the engineering team to align project objectives and delivery
  • Communicating project plans, timelines and requirements to key stakeholders
  • Providing regular progress updates to stakeholders
  • Taking ownership of mechanical and electrical elements of projects
  • Supporting the design and modification of machinery, systems and building infrastructure where required
  • Researching and assessing new machinery and technologies suitable for use across the business
  • Keeping up to date with developments in food production technology and industry innovation, including attending trade shows and exhibitions
  • Supporting and delivering training for production teams as part of project implementation

Project Engineer Skills and Experience

  • Minimum NVQ Level 3 qualification in Engineering
  • Strong CAD capability
  • Experience working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment (food or FMCG preferred)
  • High level of competence with Microsoft Office applications
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Effective communication and stakeholder engagement skills

  • Salary up to £65k (DOE), Mon to Fri (Days)
