We are seeking a proactive and hands-on HSE Advisor to support the delivery of our health, safety and environmental strategy within a fast-paced food manufacturing site. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who thrives in a highly visible, influential role and enjoys working closely with teams at all levels to embed a strong, practical safety and compliance culture aligned with BRC standards and food industry best practice.
Working closely with the HSE Manager, you will ensure that health, safety, environmental, and food safety interfaces are fully integrated into day-to-day production operations. This includes supporting alignment with HACCP principles, site hygiene requirements, and allergen controls, ensuring that safety and compliance form a core part of how the business operates. You will take ownership of your area of responsibility, balancing autonomy with collaboration, while ensuring that systems, procedures, and controls are robust, effective, and practical within a regulated food manufacturing environment.

- Experience within a manufacturing or operational environment – desirable
- Strong working knowledge of health, safety and environmental legislation
- Practical experience implementing HSE systems and processes
- Confident in delivering training, toolbox talks, and safety briefings
- Support the HSE Manager in developing and implementing the company’s health, safety and environmental strategy
- Embed HSE principles into daily operations, ensuring consistency across all areas of the business
- Manage day-to-day health and safety activities, including reporting and investigating near misses and accidents
- Maintain a visible presence across the site, engaging proactively with employees
- Organise and deliver health and safety training, including toolbox talks
- Review, develop, and maintain risk assessments, safe systems of work, and specialist assessments, including COSHH, manual handling, DSE, lone working, young workers, and pregnant workers
- Conduct regular health and safety inspections and audits, preparing clear reports and recommendations
- Assist operational teams with incident investigations and root cause analysis
- Ensure injury and illness cases are managed through to closure using the incident management system
- Support the integration and effective use of health and safety management systems
- Recommend and implement appropriate control measures and provide guidance on PPE standards
- Work closely with engineering and operational teams to manage contractor health and safety procedures
- Support health and safety committees, First Aid and Fire Marshal meetings, and emergency planning scenarios
Salary up to £45k (DOE), Optional overtime.
