Facilities Engineer
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Facilities Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical and electrical background, with the ability to maintain and improve facility systems. This role requires excellent leadership skills, as well as the capability to supervise projects and collaborate effectively with various teams. The Facilities Engineer will play a crucial role in ensuring the operational efficiency of our facilities while providing exceptional customer service.
Facilities Engineer’s Main Responsibilities:
- Ensure adherence to operational maintenance targets and schedules, meeting deadlines effectively.
- Perform light installations, including carpentry tasks such as fitting cabinets and desks.
- Assist with repairs involving electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
- Undertake painting, decorating, and general facility upkeep.
- Carry out pest-proofing measures as required.
- Conduct weekly fire door inspections and fire alarm testing to ensure safety compliance.
- Participate in operational meetings to address maintenance needs and evaluate performance.
- Support the warehouse team with pallet recovery tasks.
- Perform minor repairs on loading bay dock levellers and traffic light systems.
- Source materials and negotiate prices in line with industry guidelines.
Facilities Engineer’s Required Skills and Competencies:
- Apprentice-trained or qualified to at least NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in a relevant field.
- PAF (Powered Access Equipment) training certified, particularly for working at height.
- SEMA-trained in racking inspection and repair.
- Proficient in using hardware tools and electrical equipment.
- Basic knowledge of HVAC systems, plumbing, and electrical repairs.
- Flexible and adaptable approach to working hours.
- Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal, to liaise effectively with team members and external contacts.
