We are seeking an experienced Electrical Control Panel Builder to join our team, working closely with Automation Technicians to produce electrical wiring diagrams for our control systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Automation department to build, wire, and install control panels
  • Verify panel components against issued wiring diagrams and control panel layouts
  • Assemble control panel enclosures, including building plinths, assembling bays, and fitting side panels
  • Layout chassis plates following panel layout instructions and liaise with the Electrical Design Draughtsman to ensure optimal panel design
  • Mount components onto chassis plates and secure them accordingly
  • Wire the control panel using the provided wiring diagrams while coordinating with the Electrical Design Draughtsman and Automation Technician
  • Mark up wiring diagrams as panel wiring is completed, reporting any errors to the Electrical Design Draughtsman and Automation Technician
  • Cut apertures within the control panels for fans, filters, and power sockets as required
  • Support Automation Installation Electricians in installing the control panels within filling lines and machines

Experience & Knowledge:

  • Formal Electrical Engineering Qualification (e.g., apprenticeship)
  • Familiarity with automated production machinery or similar capital equipment
  • Experience working in a project environment with cross-functional teams

Benefits:

  • Working hours: Total weekly working hours: 37½ - 09:00-12:30 and 14:00-16:00
  • 23 days + 2 discretionary days + Bank Holidays, 3 + discretionary to be saved for Xmas.
  • Bonus - a Christmas bonus and a profit-related bonus.
  • Life Cover - Immediate life and accident cover.
  • Pension - automatically enrolled at 4% employer and 5% employee, which is the statutory minimum for our scheme. (After 2 years, the employer will contribute 8.5% as long as the employee contributes 4%)
