Based within one of our clients in Lancaster, the Payroll Administrator will be working as part of a highly motivated and well organised team within a well-established accountancy firm who provide accounting services in Bookkeeping, Accounts, Payroll, VAT Returns and Tax Services, as well as offering a wealth of knowledge and advice. The Payroll Administrator will be responsible for developing and cultivating honest, open business relationships whilst consistently delivering great customer service. The role is working Monday to Friday and is fully office-based.

What the role involves:

  • Process timesheets, managing the invoicing in line with agreements.
  • Process all payments in an accurate and timely manner, taking into account agreed payment days and payment methods.
  • Provide up to date, accurate and relevant information as and when required.
  • Manage reconciliation procedures to ensure that accurate and appropriate records are maintained in order to actively contribute to the pursuit of timely payment.
  • Ensure the business is kept up to date with any relevant information or issues pertaining to either invoices and receipts, or payments.
  • You will feel confident and proficient in discussing any payroll, administration, or tax issues including but not limited to:
    • Dealing with payments queries
    • Addressing tax queries
    • Amending payments
  • Follow the current debt recovery procedures and liaise with relevant parties to ensure the recovery of outstanding debt within reasonable timescales.

Do you have:

  • Finance administration experience, gained in a payroll or accountancy role.
  • Excellent numerical skills.
  • Strong attention to detail when entering data, producing reports and making calculations.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • The ability to prioritise tasks effectively and work to fixed deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • An ability to work well under pressure.
