Job Summary
We are looking to recruit a fixed term salaried GP for maternity leave to cover 6 sessions per week (Ideally Monday, Wednesday and Friday).
Main duties of the job
- Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to deliver safe and high-quality care.
- Delivery of care in line with NICE guidelines and evidence-based care.
- Triage and treat patients, performing specialist assessment of their needs and make referrals as necessary to other members of the primary and secondary health care teams as appropriate.

We are a SystmOne practice with an excellent Admin and Nursing Team, Advanced Paramedic Practitioner, First Contact Physiotherapist, Clinical Pharmacist, Social prescriber and Health Coaches. We are a research active practice and as a training practice we offer a range of training for both Medical Students and GP Registrars.

Job Description
- Assess, diagnose and treat patients in practice premises or own home who require medical attention and/or refer to appropriate agency.
- Request diagnostic investigations and interpret within agreed protocols e.g. x-ray, blood tests, scans, etc.
- Diagnose and manage acute and chronic conditions, including drug and non-drug based treatment methods into a management plan.
- Prescribing and reviewing medication that is appropriate to patient needs and in accordance with latest evidence-based practice, national and practice protocols and within the scope of qualified practice.
- Co‑ordinate the planning and delivery of care ensuring patients and carers/relatives are involved.
- Take responsibility for continuity of care for registered patients as appropriate.
- Manage and record consultations via practice software systems eg. SystmOne and AskmyGP.
