- Accommodation offered: Beautiful 2-bedroom cottage provided
- Wednesday to Sunday schedule (Tuesdays and Wednesdays off)
- Occasional travel to family holiday homes in Europe
The Burford Recruitment Company is delighted to be working on behalf of a private family based near Watlington, Oxfordshire, who are seeking an experienced and proactive Housekeeper to help manage the smooth day-to-day running of their home. This is a permanent position with the flexibility to be either live-in or live-out, depending on the successful candidate’s preference and proximity. The client is also open to Domestic Couple applications.
This is the family’s primary residence including three friendly dogs. The children are at university or weekly boarding school, so the household is typically quieter during the week. The ideal candidate will be organised, flexible and energetic individual.
There will be occasional travel required to the family’s European holiday homes to assist with preparing the properties and providing light housekeeping support during visits.
Key Responsibilities
- Housekeeping & Household Organisation
- Hands-on cleaning and upkeep of the home to a high standard
- Laundry, ironing, and wardrobe management
- Managing household supplies and running errands as required
- Occasional liaising with tradespeople and service providers
- Cooking & Hospitality
- Preparing simple, fresh, healthy meals on occasion
- Laying tables, caring for flowers, and supporting when the family entertains
- Ensuring guest areas are tidy and welcoming
- Pet Care & General Support
- Occasional dog walking within the estate and general care for the family’s 3 dogs
Candidate Requirements
- Previous experience as a private Housekeeper in a similar role
- High attention to detail, strong organisational skills, and ability to work independently
- A proactive, friendly, and discreet attitude
- Happy to assist with occasional pet care
- Confident cook with a focus on healthy, home-style meals
- Driving licence preferred (essential for live-out candidates due to rural location)
- Right to work in the UK
- Accommodation (if live-in)
A charming, well-maintained 2-bedroom cottage located on the estate is offered for live-in candidates. Suitable for a single person or a couple with no dependants.
