An experienced and professional Housekeeper is required for a warm and welcoming private family home set in the beautiful countryside near Wotton Under Edge. This is a maternity cover position for up to 12 months, offering an excellent opportunity for a dedicated candidate who takes pride in maintaining high household standards.
The family is seeking someone organised, discreet, and proactive, who can work independently while contributing positively to the smooth running of the home.
Key Responsibilities- Full housekeeping duties, including cleaning, tidying, and maintaining a high standard throughout the home
- Laundry, ironing, and wardrobe management
- Occasional light meal preparation (breakfast and reheating meals when required)
- Supporting the day-to-day organisation of the household
- Providing occasional support with the children in a calm, caring, and attentive manner
- Supervising and assisting the children with pre-planned activities and routines set by the principals
- Working alongside family members initially to ensure a smooth and comfortable transition for both the children and successful candidate
- Proven experience working in a private household or similar environment
- Comfortable around children and confident providing light supervision and support when required
- Previous childcare exposure is beneficial, although this is not a sole childcare-focused role
- Trustworthy, discreet, and reliable
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage time effectively
- Flexible and positive attitude
- Confident with basic food preparation
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
- Background in childcare desirable (e.g. nursery nurse, teaching assistant)
