This is a brand-new position, joining a countryside estate which has undertaken extensive refurbishment, so if you are an experienced House Manager looking for an exciting role where you can truly make it your own, this could be the perfect opportunity for you! The family consists of two adults and three young children, they primarily reside in London during the week and visit this property on weekends and holidays. Responsibilities Household and Staff Management * Acting as the first point of contact for principals to ensure clear communication and compliance with their needs * Liaising with, booking, and overseeing maintenance contracts and contractors on-site * Planning duty rotas for staff and overseeing performance * Supervising, training, and hiring household staff, including payroll management and performance reviews * Maintaining high morale among staff and ensuring a safe, efficient working environment * Managing car-related responsibilities, such as insurance, MOTs, servicing, and cleaning * Overseeing roles like chef, housekeeper, nanny, pet minder, gardeners, and chauffeur, as required Administrative Duties * Writing household manuals and policy documents for the owner’s approval * Handling all administrative tasks, including budgeting, paying bills, and purchasing household goods * Responsibility for household systems, such as air conditioning, heating, security, AV, and technology Day-to-Day Duties * Running errands and ensuring household needs are met efficiently * Driving duties (e.g., train station, airport pickups) * Packing and unpacking for principals upon arrival * Wardrobe management, including valet duties * Dog care and basic flower arrangements Housekeeping * Cleaning and maintaining silver, china, antiques, and other specialist items * Keeping the house to the highest standards in cleaning and laundry * Managing the contents inventory Wine Cellar and Bar Management * Maintaining and restocking the wine cellar, including inventory management. * Ensuring the bar is stocked and replenished. Guest and Event Management * Caring for the family, household guests, and visitors. * Organising and overseeing social events, dinner parties, and family gatherings. * Serving meals, wines, and refreshments, including silver/butler service. Requirements * Experience within a similar House Management role is essential * Previous experience writing household manuals and policies would be beneficial * Meticulous attention to detail * Proven longevity * Professional, approachable and personable * Proactive, motivated and willing to be fully hands-on when needed
