Known for their technical excellence and trend-led silhouettes, they are seeking a highly experienced Senior Garment Technologist to join their fast-paced studio. This is a pivotal role managing high-profile customer accounts, ensuring that design vision is matched by superior construction and quality.
The Role
Based full-time in their London studio, you will take full ownership of the technical journey for your assigned accounts. You will act as the primary technical point of contact for both factory partners and client buying teams, driving the development of multi-product collections including outerwear, dresses, and tailoring.
Key Responsibilities
- Account Management: Lead the technical relationship for major customer accounts, building trust with their internal buying and tech teams.
- Fit & Construction: Lead 3–5 fit sessions weekly; provide expert advice on pattern adjustments and garment construction to ensure timely approvals.
- Factory Liaison: Communicate daily with overseas factories (specializing in China production) to maintain quality and consistency from sample to shipment.
- Technical Specs: Create precise fit comments, size specifications, and graded specs; approve factory samples and review QC reports.
- Testing & Compliance: Manage fabric and chemical testing (TRFs), ensuring all products meet UK, EU, and USA regulatory standards.
- Critical Path: Partner with the Merchandising team to track production timelines, resolving any technical bottlenecks to ensure on-time delivery.
The Profile
- Experience: 7+ years as a Garment Technologist, specifically with strong supplier-side experience (experience with China-based manufacturing is essential).
- Product Expertise: Deep knowledge of woven fabrics, tailoring, and outerwear construction.
- Technical Skills: Expert in garment grading, pattern cutting, and quality assurance.
- Compliance Knowledge: Solid understanding of global textile testing and chemical compliance.
- Attributes: A proactive, highly organized professional who thrives in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Fashion Technology, Textile Design, or equivalent industry experience.
