They are looking for a technical expert to lead the Menswear garment development process, ensuring their signature aesthetic is met with impeccable quality and fit. In this role, you will bridge the gap between creative vision and commercial reality, managing the product lifecycle from initial sketch to final shipment.
The Role
Reporting to the Head of Product Development, you will lead the technical journey for the Menswear category. You will be a key collaborator within the studio, working closely with Design, Buying, and Merchandising to deliver beautiful, functional, and ethically made clothing.
Key Responsibilities
- Technical Development: Manage the end-to-end development of technically precise, commercial products. Create detailed tech packs, garment specs, and construction notes.
- Fit & Quality Leadership: Lead weekly fittings and own the 'fit process' to ensure consistency across the range. Act as the final word on garment construction and fabric suitability.
- Supplier Partnership: Build strong relationships with global suppliers; troubleshoot construction issues, conduct cost negotiations, and ensure ethical standards align with the brand's Code of Conduct.
- Cross-Functional Strategy: Attend sketch and line freeze meetings to advise on margins and fabric performance. Lead seasonal returns meetings to analyze customer feedback and apply learnings to future collections.
- Data & Systems: Maintain the PLM system (WFX) to ensure transparency across the business, managing critical paths to hit key delivery dates.
The Profile
- Experience: Minimum 5+ years in the Menswear RTW industry with deep technical knowledge of garment construction and development.
- Commercial Acumen: Strong understanding of costings, margin requirements, and critical path management.
- Values-Driven: A genuine interest in sustainability and a 'slow fashion' mindset. You should appreciate a thoughtful, artistic brand aesthetic.
- Soft Skills: Highly organized, self-motivated, and a collaborative communicator who can provide constructive feedback and remain flexible under deadlines.
- Tech Savvy: Proficient in PLM systems (WFX preferred) and Microsoft Office.
