The Opportunity

As the Lead Art Director, you will be the architect of the brand’s visual identity for Womenswear. This is a high-impact leadership role where you will own the look, feel, and storytelling of the brand across all channels. You will be responsible for ensuring the creative output remains elevated, modern, and unmistakably authentic to the brand’s heritage. Reporting to the Associate Creative Director, you will bridge the gap between high-level conceptualization and commercial execution, leading a talented internal team and a wide network of freelance creatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Campaign Development: Lead the creation of seasonal concepts, taking them from the initial mood board to global execution.
  • Shoot Direction: Act as the lead creative on-set (or remotely), directing shoots to ensure the highest aesthetic standards are met.
  • Strategic Partnership: Work closely with Design, Marketing, and E-commerce teams to deliver content that balances brand-building with commercial performance.
  • Production & Talent: Collaborate with Shoot Production to manage budgets and timelines; lead casting and talent selection to ensure the brand is represented authentically.
  • Post-Production Oversight: Manage the final selection, retouching, and sign-off process to maintain a cohesive and polished visual narrative.
  • Stakeholder Influence: Confidently present creative decks and strategy to senior leadership, championing the customer at every stage.

What We Are Looking For

  • Proven Leadership: Extensive experience as an Art Director, with a significant background at a Senior or Lead level within fashion or lifestyle.
  • Industry Network: An established portfolio of connections across photography, styling, casting, and production.
  • Creative Mastery: Deep knowledge of womenswear styling, visual storytelling, and social-first content strategies.
  • Management Skills: A seasoned mentor with a track record of developing and inspiring creative teams.
  • Technical Stack: Highly proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign) and Capture One.
  • Commercial Acumen: A strategic thinker who can marry bold creative ambition with business objectives and KPIs.

The Client Culture

Our client prides itself on a culture of kindness and high standards. They value:

  • Clarity: Straightforward communication and reliability.
  • Community: A supportive environment where teams take collective ownership.
  • Inclusion: A commitment to diversity and celebrating individuality in both their workforce and their customer base.
