On behalf of our client, a leading name in the retail sector, we are seeking an Assistant Merchandiser to join their head office team. This is a pivotal role focused on driving category performance through strategic planning, stock management, and commercial trading. You will work alongside a Senior Merchandiser to ensure product ranges are balanced, profitable, and aligned with business targets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Range Planning & Analysis: Support the seasonal buy process by preparing comprehensive analysis, including historical performance reviews, "lessons learned," and size profiling.
  • Trading & Performance: Assist with weekly trade reviews, identifying risks and opportunities to maximize sales and improve stock turn.
  • System Integrity: Maintain merchandising systems to ensure 100% accuracy in product data and purchase orders, adhering strictly to the production critical path.
  • Stock Management: Take ownership of category WSSIs, managing markdowns, intake reviews, and forecasting to optimize inventory levels.
  • Supply Chain Coordination: Liaise with global suppliers to track deliveries and mitigate potential delays.
  • Team Development: Provide guidance and mentorship to Trainee Merchandisers, fostering a collaborative and high‑performing environment.

  • Experience: Proven track record in a merchandising or assistant merchandising role within a retail head office.
  • Technical Skills: Advanced Excel skills and comfort working with complex reporting tools and merchandising systems.
