Join the heart of The Bulmershe School as our new School Facilities Manager. We are looking for a dedicated, hands-on professional to lead our site team and ensure our vibrant and diverse campus remains safe, secure and fit for purpose for every student. In this vital role, you will lead our site team and take full responsibility for the daily operations of our school, from statutory health and safety compliance and asset management to minor repairs and school lettings. You will join a supportive community that values your expertise. This position is perfect for someone who takes pride in their work and enjoys a varied role that includes everything from strategic site improvement to essential manual handling and maintenance.

Responsibilities

  • Site Management: Act as principal key holder for daily locking, unlocking and out-of-hours emergency call-outs.
  • Maintenance & DIY: Undertake minor repairs, general decoration and daily manual handling, including heavy lifting and moving deliveries.
  • Health & Safety: Serve as Health and Safety Officer, conducting statutory checks, fire tests, risk assessments and contractor monitoring.
  • Operations: Coordinate school lettings, community events setup, minibus maintenance and cleanliness standards.

Qualifications

You must have significant experience in premises management, strong DIY skills, basic IT literacy and a thorough knowledge of safety regulations. IOSH, NEBOSH or manual handling qualifications are highly desirable.
