Support the next generation of scientists and innovators as our new Physics Technician at The Bulmershe School. We are seeking an organised, adaptable and team‑oriented professional to join our large Science Department and ensure the smooth running of our practical curriculum. You will step into a diverse, vibrant community that prioritises staff wellbeing. Whether you are an experienced technician or looking to enter the field, you will find a team that values your expertise, offering you training to help you confidently develop your skills.
Key Areas of Responsibility
- Lesson Preparation: Prepare, assemble and deliver specialist equipment, materials and solutions for practical science lessons across all key stages including A‑level.
- Health and Safety: Maintain excellent standards of safety across prep rooms and laboratories, enforcing COSHH regulations, executing risk assessments and safely managing hazardous substances.
- Stock and Resource Management: Handle departmental ordering, maintain accurate inventories, liaise with suppliers for cost‑effective procurement and coordinate equipment repairs.
- Team Collaboration: Work alongside teachers and other technicians to trial practical ideas, assist in classrooms and design or repair apparatus to support learning.
You must have an NVQ Level 2 or equivalent, excellent communication skills and the ability to follow strict safety guidelines. Experience working with laboratory resources or a strong willingness to undergo specialist technical training is highly desirable. If you are an adaptable, resilient and positive team player, who is confident working in an environment with children, we would love to hear from you.
