This is a full‑time, on‑site Yard Operative role based at our Bothwell location. The Yard Operative will handle, load, and unload timber and building materials, ensuring stock is stored safely and correctly. Responsibilities include:
- Picking and preparing customer orders
- Assisting with deliveries and collections
- Operating yard equipment (such as forklifts or pallet trucks, where appropriately trained and certified)
- Maintaining a clean, safe, and organized yard
- Conducting basic stock checks
- Reporting any damages or discrepancies
Yard Operatives provide courteous, helpful service to trade and public customers, supporting colleagues to meet daily operational and safety standards.
Qualifications:
- Experience in a builders’ merchant, warehouse, construction, or similar outdoor manual environment is beneficial
