Senior engineering leadership role within a highly regulated API/pharmaceutical manufacturing environment. Responsible for setting and delivering site engineering strategy across process, maintenance, automation and capital projects, supporting major plant expansion and commissioning.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead completion and operational handover of a new large-scale API facility (4 reactors, 2–4.5m³, with associated downstream processing).
- Design and deliver Phase II expansion (additional reactor line).
- Own and implement site-wide Process Safety strategy and risk management framework.
- Develop and execute a 5–7 year asset aging, obsolescence and innovation roadmap.
- Lead multidisciplinary engineering, automation and maintenance teams in a cGMP environment.
- Oversee capital projects, engineering assets, utilities, BMS and contractor management.
- Ensure full regulatory, cGMP and HSE compliance.
- Support commissioning of hydrogenation and continuous manufacturing technologies.
Qualifications
- Degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering.
- Proven leadership of engineering and maintenance teams in pharmaceutical or fine chemical manufacturing.
- Strong capital project and plant commissioning experience.
- Demonstrated expertise in Process Safety systems.
- Deep understanding of cGMP and regulated manufacturing environments.
- Chartered Engineer status.
- API or fine chemical manufacturing experience.
- Exposure to Lean, Six Sigma, TPM or manufacturing excellence frameworks.
