Role Overview

The Brittons Academy wishes to appoint a dynamic, enthusiastic and high-calibre HLTA who will be committed to supporting students with SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disability). The successful candidate will be a practitioner who is committed to helping students achieve their best academically as well as socially.
Qualifications & Skills
- Experience of working with children with complex needs is essential
- Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) qualification is required
- Effective communication skills
- Ability to adapt or modify interactions to meet pupil needs
- Ability to summarise and present information from observations of pupil performance
- Effective time management, planning and collaboration
- Ability to provide a structured activity within a group setting
- Knowledge of group dynamics and how to apply them
- Obtain and interpret information on pupils’ literacy/numeracy skills, individual learning targets and specific support needs
- Ability to recognise the range and implications of factors that impact pupil behaviour
- Minimum GCSE Maths and English or equivalent
