About the role
We are hiring a Financial Accountant to join our finance team in Milton Keynes. This role will focus on supporting the month-end close process, managing general ledger and intercompany transactions, and preparing accurate financial reports across multiple corporate and EMEA entities. You’ll work closely with both local and corporate finance teams, external accountants, and other stakeholders to ensure timely reconciliations, strong controls, and compliance with international accounting standards. Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and post monthly journals, accruals, prepayments, and cost allocations
- Reconcile and manage intercompany balances and ensure timely clearing between entities
- Support month-end and year-end close, including payroll, pensions, leases, and IFRS adjustments
- Deliver timely balance sheet reconciliations and commentary on key variances
- Coordinate with external accountants and local finance partners across EMEA
- Administer the HSBC banking platform and support treasury-related processes
- Support audits and drive process improvements across financial operations
- Provide support for VAT, WHT, deferred revenue, CAPEX tracking, and quarterly sustainability reporting
- Contribute to finance transformation projects and ongoing standardisation initiatives
To be successful in the role, you will have:
- Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting, intercompany processes, and IFRS principles (especially IFRS 9 and 16)
- Experience with SAP, Concur, Blackline, and HSBCnet (or similar banking platforms)
- Advanced Excel skills and the ability to handle and reconcile large data sets
- Excellent communication skills for working with cross-functional and global teams
- Strong attention to detail, analytical mindset, and ability to prioritise tasks to meet tight deadlines
Qualifications & Experience
- Part-qualified or fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA preferred)
- Experience in a shared services or multinational finance environment
- Background in intercompany accounting, tax provisions, and corporate reporting
- Experience supporting audits and finance transformation initiatives
