About the role:
BSI Aerospace team supports over 1700 clients globally. You know what excellence looks like in your sector (be it aerospace, space or defence), and you want to see it across your industry. As a BSI Auditor, you will be part of enabling that. You will work with our clients to get to know their business whilst you audit their organisation or products against the relevant national and international management standards. Your audit will allow them to continually reassess and improve their business performance. It is a busy, but extremely rewarding role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess client systems and processes against BSI, ISO, and AS/EN requirements, ensuring audits deliver real value.
- Prepare accurate, detailed assessment reports and clearly communicate findings and recommended corrective actions.
- Recommend certification decisions (issue, re-issue, suspension, withdrawal) in line with BSI policies and timelines.
- Plan, conduct, and deliver audits professionally, maintaining BSI's high standards across all interactions.
- Provide meaningful client feedback, demonstrating strong commercial and operational understanding.
- Maintain a consistent, professional, and engaging approach throughout all assessments.
- Lead assessment teams when required, ensuring effective planning and collaboration.
- Build strong relationships that support long-term client satisfaction and business development.
- Provide timely information to internal teams and maintain accurate client records.
About you:
Essential requirements:
- Minimum 4 years of aerospace, space, or defence industry experience within the last 10 years.
- Proven management system auditing experience.
- Strong knowledge of ISO 9001 and AS/EN 9100.
- Fluent in English.
- Willingness to travel frequently across the UK, including overnight stays.
- Strong integrity, professionalism, and customer focus.
Desirable requirements:
- ISO 9001 Lead Auditor qualification.
- AS/EN 9100 (AEA) Lead Auditor qualification or AATT course completion.
- Additional certifications such as AS/EN 9110 or AS/EN 9120.
- AEA authentication in the OASIS database.
- Additional European languages (e.g., German, French, Italian, Polish, Dutch).
