About the role
At BSI, we are shaping a resilient and sustainable future by setting global standards of excellence. As our Group Head of Procurement, you will play a pivotal role in driving commercial value across the business. You’ll lead the global procurement and contract management strategy, overseeing approximately £100M in supplier spend. You will design and implement innovative, efficient, and cost-effective procurement solutions that align with BSI’s strategic objectives and long‑term growth plans. This role is both strategic and operational, focusing on building a global framework for procurement excellence. You’ll lead initiatives that enhance supplier performance, strengthen governance, and enable continuous improvement across procurement, contract, and supplier management activities.
Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver a global procurement, contract, and supplier management strategy aligned with business goals.
- Lead category management to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and drive innovation.
- Oversee supplier relationships and negotiations, ensuring strong contracts and compliance with legal requirements.
- Implement effective procurement processes and governance frameworks across the organization.
- Define KPIs and dashboards to track supplier performance and value delivery.
- Manage key global contracts and suppliers, partnering with business leaders to optimize outcomes and mitigate risk.
- Build and lead a Centre of Excellence to transform procurement and supplier management globally.
- Oversee spend analytics and reporting, identifying opportunities for savings and process improvement.
- Ensure suppliers meet corporate responsibility and compliance standards worldwide.
- Lead and develop a high‑performing global procurement team that values collaboration and accountability.
To be successful in the role you will have:
- Extensive experience operating at a senior leadership level within a complex, global, matrixed organization.
- Proven success in developing and implementing procurement, contract, and supplier management strategies across diverse categories (e.g., IT, Facilities, Travel, Professional Services).
- Demonstrated ability to lead negotiations and manage large‑scale, high‑value supplier agreements.
- Strong financial acumen, with experience in budgeting, P&L management, and benefits realization.
- A track record of leading business process transformation, governance, and controls within procurement and commercial operations.
- Experience establishing and leading a Procurement Centre of Excellence or enterprise‑wide demand/supply management framework.
