A day in the life of our Senior HR Adviser
You will join the People Directorate Line management responsibility for a group of Advisers and Officers for an area alignment within the Advice and Casework Team, that helps to deliver a specialist, person-centred advisory service covering a wide range of employment and volunteering issues. The role will drive a culture of service excellence, customer care, continuous improvement, and best practice. You will provide a comprehensive advice and casework service to an array of teams across the Organisation.
We are looking for a people-focussed professional who can guide a team responsible for providing knowledgeable and professional advice. This role will also allow you to utilise your technical knowledge and in addition to leadership responsibilities you will manage your own caseload for an aligned area.
Key responsibilities of this role will include:

Supporting Advice & Casework Manager to develop and embed consistent ways of working and volunteering practices. You’ll also share responsibility for managing case workload across line reports. This will help ensure adequate resources are in place and appropriate competence and behaviours are in evidence.

Managing your own caseload.

Being responsible for managing Advisers and Officers to ensure the provision of a high-level advice and casework services.

Identifying areas where improvement is required in the development of managers (in terms of dealing with employee relations cases). Working with the Advice & Casework Manager and L&OD Team to develop suitable interventions.

Handling cases in accordance with published SLAs and KPIs. Ensuring all detail and information is recorded accurately to reflect advice given and any other relevant information. You’ll be assured when working at pace and with competing priorities.

Being a strong networker. Ensuring effective relationships are developed with key stakeholders (including managers, business partners and People Support) to share best practice and learning, and to ensure cross organisational consistency., We are proud to participate in the disability confident scheme for roles based in the UK.
