The Visitor and Security Services Department (VSS) works across the Museum to ensure our visitors are able to make the most of their visit. Whether it is managing public safety, selling tickets to exhibitions, providing information on the Museum’s collection or patrolling the Museum to make sure it is safe and secure, our staff are focused on delivering an excellent experience for every visitor and to provide security for the Museum, staff, visitors and one of the most important collections in the world. We are looking for professionals with a commitment to high quality visitor and security services to join our team. What are the key responsibilities of the Administrator role?

As an Administrator you will play a vital role in supporting the visitor experience, safety and security of the UK’s number one visitor attraction by offering comprehensive administrative support across the department. You will deal with a wide range of requests and tasks to ensure efficient running of business-as-usual activities in the Museum’s largest department. Your work in this role will allow the department to run efficiently and provide an excellent experience to all visitors to the Museum.

What might a normal day look like?

You will be one of two departmental administrators providing invaluable administrative support. This will involve working to maintain finance processes, databases, records, and staff scheduling; providing general administrative support to senior managers and producing reports as required. You will also assist with the organisation of meetings, external visits, enquiries, and training.

The ideal candidate will have a background in Administration whose skills and experiences are:

  • organisation and attention to detail
  • communication
  • finance processing
  • the ability to respond promptly to diverse requests and enquiries
  • user of Microsoft based IT systems

This role works weekdays office hours (09:00 – 17:15).
