This Business Analyst role sits at the centre of the British Museum’s technology change agenda. Working within Information Services, you’ll act as an internal consultant, helping teams turn complex organisational challenges into clear, well‑designed technology solutions. You’ll work across a broad range of projects, shaping interventions that may include business process redesign, platform configuration, system integrations, or the introduction of new technologies. A key aspect of the role is ensuring solutions are practical, value‑driven, and aligned with the Museum’s enterprise architecture and long‑term digital direction.

About you

You’re an analytical thinker who enjoys untangling complexity and bringing structure to uncertainty. You’re confident engaging with stakeholders at all layers of the organisation, asking thoughtful questions, and challenging assumptions to reach evidence-based conclusions. You communicate clearly, document rigorously, and take pride in seeing your analysis directly influence decisions and delivery. You thrive in collaborative, mission‑driven environments and are motivated by working on meaningful change rather than purely theoretical analysis.

Key areas of responsibility:

  • Lead discovery and analysis to understand business problems, risks, and opportunities, producing clear findings and recommendations.
  • Elicit, analyse, and manage requirements throughout delivery to ensure solutions meet business needs and realise benefits.
  • Shape solution options with technical teams, translating business needs into workable, secure, and sustainable designs.
  • Map current and future states using process maps, operating models, and other diagramming techniques to support clarity, alignment, and decision‑making.
  • Act as the link between business and technical stakeholders, ensuring shared understanding and alignment with enterprise architecture.
  • Support continuous improvement of Business Analysis practices, contributing to standards and ways of working.
