About the role:
To lead a team responsible for conceiving, developing and delivering high-quality adult programmes to maximise visitor engagement with the Collection, in line with relevant targets and the Museum’s vision, values and purpose. To display an awareness of a wide variety of relevant social and cultural issues and integrate these into a programme that will best suit our audiences’ needs.
Key areas of responsibility:
- To shape and deliver the adult programme maximising the use of both internal and external knowledge and experience to strengthen the Museum’s wider public programme and generate income, working with colleagues across the organisation.
- To ensure the relevance of the adult programme, driving strong visitor engagement with the Museum’s Collection, exhibitions and displays, while commenting on wider social and cultural issues.
- To lead on development and delivery of consistent, high-quality adult programming characterised by creativity, innovation, diversity and relevance, while being engaging and enjoyable for visitors.
- To manage, develop and motivate the Adult Programmes team.
- To ensure the programme meets the needs of adult visitors in line with the Museum’s commitment to diversity.
About you:
The ideal candidate would have a degree in a relevant subject, is a skilled and creative project manager in an education/ cultural environment, has experience in managing a small team, has strong communication and problem solving skills, and has the ability to advocate effectively to internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
