The British Library is offering an exciting 6-month opportunity for an experienced Project Lead to support the delivery of strategic workforce and people initiatives across the organisation. Working within the People Team, the post holder will play a key role in translating people strategy into practical delivery through effective project management, stakeholder engagement, and data-driven insight.

A critical element of the role is the ability to analyse workforce data, develop dashboards, and present insights to senior leadership teams and governance groups. The successful candidate must therefore demonstrate strong experience in creating dashboards and advanced capability in Power BI. This opportunity would suit a colleague with strong project delivery skills combined with workforce analytics expertise, particularly in using data to support organisational decision-making.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the delivery of HR and workforce-related projects or defined workstreams within larger organisational programmes.
  • Translate agreed project objectives into clear delivery plans, milestones, and measurable outcomes.
  • Develop and maintain workforce dashboards and reporting tools to support strategic decision-making.
  • Use Power BI to design and deliver interactive dashboards and data visualisations.
  • Analyse workforce data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
  • Provide clear, data-driven insights and reports to senior leadership teams and governance groups.
  • Coordinate project resources, activities, and dependencies across the People Team and wider organisation.
  • Track progress against agreed deliverables and manage risks and issues.
  • Support stakeholder engagement and communications across HR and corporate teams.
  • Ensure accurate project documentation, reporting, and learning capture.

This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to important people initiatives within the British Library while developing experience in strategic project delivery and workforce analytics. The role will involve working closely with senior colleagues across the organisation to support the delivery of key People Team priorities.
