The British Library is looking for a skilled and enthusiastic AV Technician to join our team at the St Pancras site. You will deliver outstanding audio-visual support for a wide variety of events, from corporate presentations to public performances, conferences, and lectures, ensuring every event runs seamlessly.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver audio-visual support for events across the British Library estate.
  • Set up, operate, test, and troubleshoot AV and IT equipment, including audio, video, lighting, and networking systems.
  • Install, configure, and maintain hardware and software in line with agreed procedures.
  • Provide on-the-day event support, including rehearsals and live production.
  • Interpret client requirements and advise on suitable technical solutions.
  • Monitor system performance and resolve faults or escalate where required.
  • Maintain accurate records of installations, incidents, and system changes.
  • Support users by providing clear guidance on AV and related technology.

What We’re Looking For

  • Strong problem-solving ability with a logical and detail-oriented approach.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work flexibly as part of a team in a busy service environment.
  • Basic understanding of electrical and electronic systems.
  • A proactive, adaptable approach and willingness to learn new skills.
  • Proven hands-on experience with AV and IT systems, including video and projection systems and video/audio conferencing tools.
  • Ability to work in live event environments, following cues and instructions.
  • CTS qualification or similar AV certification.

Working Pattern

This role supports a live events environment, so flexibility is essential. Early mornings and evenings may be required.
