Labquip NDT is currently seeking a Technical Sales Engineer to join its team on a permanent, full-time basis, working 39 hours per week over five days.

The successful Technical Sales Engineer will create sales opportunities for the company’s non‑destructive testing (NDT) equipment product ranges with businesses across the South West, with a key focus on providing technical consultations. Specifically, the successful candidate will develop sales of ultrasonic thickness gauges, flaw detectors and probes, ultraviolet (UV) inspection lights and hand‑held X‑ray fluorescence (XRF), developing and managing relationships with new and existing customers and identifying growth opportunities within accounts. The successful candidate will proactively visit customers and prospects at their sites, deliver product demonstrations and provide technical consultations, managing their own calendar, workload and customer base. Working with four counterpart UK Sales Engineers, Service Engineers and Technical Specialists, the successful candidate will seek to drive business expansion and customer satisfaction.

Additionally, the successful candidate will:

  • Develop a deep understanding of the company’s product portfolio and its applications
  • Provide expert sales and technical support to both new and existing customers
  • Identify opportunities to cross‑sell and expand accounts.

Requirements:

  • At least three years’ experience in a technical sales or engineering role
  • Knowledge of materials science and/or NDT equipment
  • Ultrasonic knowledge
  • Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills
  • A self‑motivated approach
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with familiarity in customer relationship management (CRM) / enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems
  • A full, valid driving licence.

Ideally, the successful candidate will live within the GL postcode to facilitate travel to company offices and across the assigned region.
