The Quality Engineer will assist in supporting the Quality Assurance and Continuous Improvement Manager in maintaining the ISO 9001 certification for the Methil yard. This role will also be expected to assist with all site, project and supplier quality assurance and continuous improvement requirements and initiatives.
- Ensure full compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 3834 and BS EN 1090 across all operations.
- Liaise with non-destructive testing (NDT) and dimensional control departments to support inspection and validation processes.
- Support project-specific quality planning and maintain control of site quality documentation and deliverables.
- Conduct internal audits and external supplier audits, ensuring corrective actions are implemented and tracked.
- Interface with clients, classification societies and external auditors to represent the company’s quality management system.
- Provide on-site support and guidance to production teams, promoting a culture of quality and continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
- Recognised qualification in engineering, quality or similar discipline (BTEC/NVQ or higher preferred).
- Experience in a similar role.
- Internal auditor qualification (a CQI- or IRCA-approved course is desirable).
- Lead auditor qualification (desirable but not essential).
