An Inspector is sought. The successful candidate’s core responsibilities will be to adhere to the department’s production output requirements following material requirements planning (MRP) schedules. The successful candidate will work according to the instructions that Line Managers and management provide, ensuring that all activities are performed in alignment with the standards and expectations that the company values and mission statement outline. The successful candidate will report to the Line Manager and be located at Springfields Fuel Site.
Responsibilities
- Perform general duties as required by management while ensuring a safe and productive working environment.
- Maintain discipline and strong team morale.
- Implement company procedures, help train staff, support management and contribute to continuous improvement.
- Maintain accurate production and quality records, report issues and support colleagues in resolving quality problems.
- Follow MRP schedules, keep production plans up to date, complete work orders and maintain proper housekeeping and ESS records.
Inspection
- Maintain inspection data and ensure work follows MRP schedules.
- Competently use inspection gauges, fixtures, standard operating procedures (SOPs) and coordinate measuring machine (CMM) programmes.
- Understand technical drawings to ISO/BS standards and follow relevant quality procedures.
- Maintain calibration records and required consumables.
- Attend quality meetings and support resolution of inspection-related issues.
- Update work lists and production plans daily.
- Report issues affecting production to Line Managers.
- Keep visible plans current, complete work orders and maintain good housekeeping.
- Correctly record working hours, absences and leave in the ESS system.
Macro
- Perform required weld checks according to quality procedures and maintain full traceability of weld tests.
- Conduct laboratory tests, record results and manage correct storage of test-pieces.
- Handle corrosive materials safely and follow all relevant health and safety requirements.
- Complete internal training required for weld macro and fusion weld examination.
Qualifications
- Competent in the visual inspection methods.
- Ability to refer to quality procedures.
- Familiar with the non-conformance report (NCR) process.
- Competent to understand drawings.
- Possess an understanding of non-destructive testing (NDT) requirements.
- Refer to work instructions and SOPs.
- Ability to use micrometers, verniers and digital equipment.
