British American Tobacco has an exciting opportunity for an Area Senior Brand Manager in London, UK. Within our Western Europe Area (WEA) team, we are looking for a WEA Senior Brand Manager, focusing on developing and managing an innovative portfolio of new category products for adult consumers. It’s a varied and exciting role working on a core segment of the business.
The WEA Senior Brand Manager will aim to create long term brand equity and profitability for their brand, requiring strong leadership and communication skills. Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting the Head of Category in driving development of Western Europe Area’s new category portfolio strategy & Brand plans, identifying key opportunities, ensuring competitive advantage in priority consumer segments and recognizing brand roles and their destination.
- Managing the healthy commercial growth of brand - project management, pricing and channel strategies in line with target consumer segments.
- Overseeing overall category performance in markets in scope: ensuring regular performance and commercial KPIs/P&L review, highlighting key bottlenecks, orchestrating corrective actions across the organization.
- Adapting central/area portfolio and communication strategy to local needs, supporting and consulting local markets in execution.
- In close collaboration with the Strategic Planning and Insights team, using market insights and consumer research to make informed decisions and proactively exploring category to drive brand plans.
- Coordinating the development and execution of all annual brand plans ensuring that allocation of objectives and spends are in line with portfolio definition and high-level set of programs are defined for the brand in line with its agreed role in the portfolio.
- Building strong working relationships with end-market activation & trade leads to ensure strategy and plans are in line with global strategies and are effectively deployed by markets in line with local needs.
- Developing a well-trained and motivated team capable of delivering against the business objectives.
What are we looking for:
The job holder will be a Marketing professional with expertise in insights and conceptualising strategic plans and with solid knowledge in all aspects of Product Development and Quality. Essential background will include:
- Experience of working in a highly regulated FMCG environment.
- Solid knowledge of product attributes and ways of working (Vapour product design, e.g. ingredients & flavourings and their effects on consumption quality and consumer satisfaction, packaging development).
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, able to influence key stakeholders at a senior level and capable of conveying complex requirements across the organisation whilst considering cultural differences and cross-functional considerations.
- Fluent English Speaker.
- Significant brand marketing experience – a proven record of managing brands in a fast-paced FMCG environment.
- Strategic thought leadership and commercial acumen with the ability to manage the P&L.
- Proven track record on New Product Development with success.
- Experience in working with and creating strategies for premium brands.
- Demonstrated mindset and ability to work in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment.
