British American Tobacco United Kingdom has an exciting opportunity for an Executive Reward and Share Plan Manager in London. This role sits within the Executive Reward & Share Plans team and offers hands-on exposure to a broad range of executive compensation and share plan topics in a global, FTSE 10 organisation. You will work closely with a variety of internal stakeholders, including the Global Mobility team, contributing to complex and high impact reward and share plans matters with international reach.
The position offers a broad remit and significant variety, providing an excellent opportunity to build deep expertise in executive reward and share plans while developing strong stakeholder management skills. With exposure to senior stakeholders, governance processes, and cross-functional collaboration, the role offers strong development and learning opportunities, with scope to grow and shape your career in line with your ambitions.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Partner closely with Senior Executive Reward Managers, the Group Head of Share Plans, and the Group Head of Executive Compensation to support the effective delivery of BAT’s executive reward and share plan programmes.
- Support executive compensation benchmarking activities, including maintaining peer group databases (international peers and FTSE 30), reviewing remuneration reports and disclosures, and generating insights to inform decision making.
- Contribute to the technical delivery of the executive reward cycle and annual global share plan events, working with internal stakeholders, global tax advisors, legal teams, and share plan administrators.
- Undertake executive reward research and analysis, staying up to date on developments in corporate governance, proxy advisor policies, and voting guidelines, and providing relevant insights to the executive reward team.
- Prepare and maintain executive shareholding reports, reward analytics, and related process documentation to support governance, internal reviews, effective controls, and audit readiness.
- Support employee communications on reward and share plan matters, including managing employee-facing online share plan content to ensure clarity, accuracy, timeliness, and alignment with global principles.
- Liaise with Global Mobility, regional, and local Reward and HR teams on reward and share plan matters, including those relating to international assignees, to ensure alignment with assignment arrangements, local regulatory requirements, and global frameworks.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with external vendors and key internal stakeholders to support effective programme delivery.
- Participate in and contribute to reward related projects and wider team initiatives, as required.
What are we looking for?
- Solid understanding of global share plans.
- Deep understanding of tax concepts (tax certifications) and being able to work with regulatory information.
- Experience in benchmarking executive compensation.
- Experience in analysing director remuneration reports and CD&A.
- Excellent attention to detail, as well as excellent organisational and communication skills.
- Strong computer literacy (must be proficient with MS Excel).
- Ability to deliver concurrent projects, working to tight deadlines.
- Experience preparing and delivering employee facing communications.
- Exceptional analytical skills, ability to prepare and interpret data in a meaningful manner.
- University degree in math/science/economics is preferred.
- Qualification/certification in tax/accounting is an advantage.
