British American Tobacco UK has an exciting opportunity for a Digital Business Partnering – HR/Legal Technology Lead in London. The Digital Business Partnering – HR/Legal Technology Lead is accountable for end-to-end digital delivery, demand management, and strategic business partnering across Global Human Resources and Legal functions. The role exists to unlock enterprise value through digital transformation, ensuring HR and Legal are enabled by fit-for-purpose platforms, data, integrations, and analytics, delivered through a clear, governed, and prioritised DBS portfolio. This role acts as the single point of accountability between HR & Legal leadership and DBS/IDT, balancing strategic transformation initiatives with BAU stability, compliance, and value realisation.
Strategic Context & Scope
- Global accountability across HR & Legal technology portfolios
- Oversees BAU delivery, change initiatives, and transformation programmes
- Leads a distributed group of DBS Business Analysts located in different regions
- Operates in a highly regulated, multi-stakeholder environment
- Interfaces with Group HR, Legal Leadership, GBS, IDT, D&A, Enterprise Architecture, and external partners
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Business Partnering - Act as the primary DBS partner for Global HR & Legal leadership, shaping the digital roadmap, governing demand, and representing DBS in functional governance forums.
- Portfolio & Demand Management - Own the end-to-end HR & Legal DBS portfolio, governing demand intake, prioritisation, sequencing, and ensuring transparency of delivery, risks, and value.
- Delivery & Value Realisation - Accountable for high-quality delivery across HR platforms, Legal systems, analytics, integrations, and third-party partners, ensuring measurable business outcomes.
- Transformation Leadership - Provide DBS leadership for major HR & Legal transformation initiatives, ensuring alignment between global design, localisation, and technical delivery.
- People & Capability Leadership - Lead and develop a high-performing global DBS HR & Legal team, building capability, succession, and a strong culture of delivery excellence.
Qualifications
- Senior leadership experience in HR and/or Legal technology or digital transformation
- Proven experience in global portfolio and demand management
- Strong executive-level partner management
- Experience leading large-scale transformation programmes
